Some of my favorite things have roofs that open.

This page is a tribute to the Great Goddess That Created Everything and then Promptly Left for Parts Unknown.
Before She left, She created Her only Writing, a palimpsest painted over an old license plate.
For billions of years the meaning of Her Message was unknown—until I translated it.
It reads “If I had wanted you to have a steel roof over your head I wouldn’t have given you the sky.”
In the background: The UFO
In the foreground: my 1992 Mazda Miata. I set a new mileage record in 2004—I put 273 miles on the Miata.
Total mileage is 39893.
The reason I drove the Miata so little in 2004 was that I was busy building the UFO, and the Miata’s side
of the garage was occupied by construction materials and tools. The Miata was parked at the Upton Farm
for more than six months.
Don’t let that blue sky worry you; it had clouded over by sundown.
